Interesting Facts:
  • Beauty was sired by Ch. Jolihem El Toro who was "M" line bred to Ch. Widneland Kim (a son of Ch. Gentleman Jim). Ch. Widneland Kim was one of Lionel Hemstock's favourite dogs.
  • Beauty was black brindle and white - a feminine version of her sire, Ch. Jolihem El Toro.
  • Beauty was campaigned alongside Ch. Jolihem Dreadnought, she won 9CC's to his 10. Jolihem made a habit of campaigning a dog and a bitch together e.g. Ch. Jolihem Forclip Christy Bella & Ch. Jolihem Fine and Dandy, Ch. Jolihem Gallant Bess and Ch. Jolihem Ringmaster, etc. Few Stafford kennels have successfully campaigned both dog and bitch together to the title of Champion, and even fewer have campaigned a red and brindle together - this was achieved by Jolihem with Beauty and Dreadnought.
  • Beauty and Dreadnought won CC dog and CC bitch at the SKC in 1966 under Harry Latham.  This was the first time that both SBT Dog and Bitch CC's had been awarded to stock owned and bred by the same kennel. Beauty and Dreadnought won CC and Res. CC at the same show on many occasions.
  • Beauty won her CC's under Jean Hopwood, Leo C. Wilson, George Leatt, W. E. Forster, W. G. Siggers, Harry Latham, Fred Dempster, George R. Down, and J. Allen.
  • At Paignton & Dist. Fanciers Association in 1966 under Mr. George Leatt, Ch. Jubilent of Jolihem (Beauty's half brother - bred by L. F. Hemstock, Jolihem) won CC dog and Best of Breed, Beauty won CC bitch and Best Opposite Sex, and Dreadnought won Res. CC dog.
  • Jolihem's success with Beauty and Dreadnought in the 1960's has stood the test of time - it has not been repeated by any other kennel. Jolihem, however, had similar success in the late 1960's/early 1970's with litter brother and sister Ch. Jolihem Ringmaster and Ch. Jolihem Gallant Bess.
Character:
Beauty had a very loving nature, she was quiet and relaxed. She was very eye-catching and enjoyed showing enormously. She had a certain something about her that would always draw the judge's eye.
Beauty had a stubbern streak - if she didn't want to do something, nothing on earth would convince her to do it. She was a great mathemetician - she could calculate what good behavior was worth - payments ranged from dry buscuits to chunks of liver.
Beauty also had her own hiding place up the garden - if she had "gone to ground" she would only come out when she was ready to!
