The Line

Jolihem The Bargee (JW)

All our borders are line bred to Jack Price's Oxcroft stock (see Kennel History). Oxcroft Border Terriers are almost unique in the fact that they are both working and show dogs. Ch. Oxcroft Rouge and Ch. Oxcroft Royal are both "Show Champions" and holders of working certificates - this is true of most of the Borders currently owned and campaigned by Jack Price. Oxcroft Border Terriers are bred to have a head like that of an Otter - as stated in the breed standard. The Otter head is as much a characteristic of an Oxcroft Border Terrier as it is of the breed as a whole. The pictures of Price's Borders featured here demonstrate the true Otter head so characteristic of the Oxcroft strain.

Oxcroft and Jolihem

This photo was taken in the 1960's and shows Jack Price with Oxcroft Rocket and L. F. Hemstock with a son of Ch. Jolihem El Toro.
The Oxcroft Borders of today all go back to Oxcroft Rocket. As the pictures show, the Oxcroft strain has remained true to type throughout the generations.

Oxcroft has had an enormous influence on the Jolihem Border Terriers. All the Jolihem Borders are either sired by an Oxcroft dog or are descendants of Jolihem The Bargee, who had an Oxcroft Sire and was line bred to Oxcroft on his Dam's side.
