Interesting Facts: |
- Dandy was "M" line bred to Ch. Widneyland
Kim (a son of Ch. Gentleman Jim) through his sire Jolihem Adonis. Adonis was by Nuncargate
Nicky who went back to Ch. Widneyland Kim through Ch. Wychbury Kimbo. Nuncargate Nicky was
also the Grand Sire of Ch. Jolihem Forclip Christy Bella.
Jolihem Adonis was a great dog - many winners go back to the "M" line via him.
Adonis was also the Grand Sire of Ch. Jolihem Dreadnought.

- Dandy was a true tiger brindle, he had a magnificently
sound front and exceptionally well laid shoulders. Because of his sound construction he
always stood four square.

- Dandy lived with Lionel's sister (Beryl Bottomore) and
family and was co-owned by Lionel and his brother-in-law. This family tradition still
continues since cousins Sarah L. Hemstock and Jane E. Bottomore co-own the Jolihem Kerry
Blue Terriers.

- Lionel travelled to Belfast Dog Show (1962) with his
Father, Fred. The journey there was not a good one ! Fred did not have his sea legs and
Dandy would not rest on the boat at all. However, the journey was well worthwhile since
Dandy won CC and Best of Breed under the much respected Gerald Dudley of the
"Wychbury" prefix. Lionel was overjoyed with this win since he admired the
Wychbury dogs, in particular Ch. Wychbury Kimbo. Jolihem Adonis - "Kim" was
named after the Dudley's Ch. Wychbury Kimbo.

- Dandy was retired after winning his third Challenge
Certificate and gaining his Champion title. This was not uncommon at the time.

- Malc Boam (Fulfin) described Ch. Jolihem Fine and
Dandy as one of the outstanding dogs of the decade (1960-1970).
